Design Work Begins for Arts@Renaissance

CDR Studio has been selected by The St. Nicks Alliance to assist in the renovation and expansion of their Arts@Renaissance arts space in the former outpatient building of the Greenpoint Hospital in Brooklyn.  view full article

With over 4,500 square feet of program space, the arts center aims to become "a bridge between North Brooklyn’s vibrant long-term communities and the area’s emerging creative population through the development of new multi-disciplinary work, residencies, workshops, and collaborative neighborhood art projects." In operation since the summer of 2010, this will be the first major renovation and expansion of the arts center since its inception in order to provide expanded programming; work will include the creation of new gallery, performance and screening spaces, along with classroom and co-working facilites.

FDNY Marine Company 01 Ribbon-Cutting

CDR Studio is pleased to announce the official opening of the new FDNY facility on the Hudson River. With bag-pipe accompaniment and a fire-boat salute, the ribbon was cut signalling the commissioning of the new pier and firehouse.  view full article

Construction Kicks Off At Long Island Residence

Construction begins this week on the Long Island Residence. The project involves the renovation of a modest single family home built in the early 1960's on a generous wooded site.  view full article

Over the coming months, the external façade will be peeled back and replaced with a charred cedar rainscreen treated using a variation of the traditional Japanese Shou-sugi-ban burning method. Comprehensive renovations will be taking place on the building interior and in the surrounding landscape. The building is scheduled to be completed this December.
